For families facing the necessity, or those considering the possibility, of transferring agencies there are two questions we are often asked:

Just ask one of our foster parents. The success of CFN rests with our most valuable resource - our families. We feel there is no better way to learn about us than by getting to know one of these foster families for their perspective on their crucial role as caregivers. To schedule an appointment, simply contact the Family Service staff and let them know you would like to visit with a CFN foster parent by using our online ask a parent form or call the CFN Family Services staff in Austin at (512) 719-3222 or toll free 1-877-719-3222.
Additionally, the Family Service staff is a wealth of information for you as you begin exploring the possibility of becoming a foster parent.
As you learn about CFN, it is our hope that you will come to see the world the way we do - through the eyes of the children we serve. By doing this, we understand the importance of providing the highest level of quality support services to our foster families. These are the qualities that make CFN such a unique agency.
How Difficult Is The Process?
This is an important question. And the answer is as varied as the families we support. The process is designed to prepare you for the challenges (and rewards) of becoming a foster parent.
If you are an experienced foster parent and have a current home study that meets Minimum Standards, as well as being up-to-date on your training, the transfer process can be completed quickly and easily.
If your home study needs to be updated or you need additional training, the process is a little more involved. Contact the CFN Family Services staff for an initial consultation and more detailed information.
